Hello John,
You do not know me, but there is a possible chance that we have met in the past. I am only a couple of years younger than you and spent several summers holidaying at Carbis Mill farm in the late 60’s and early 70’s. It is with great sadness that I read on your site of the passing of Mary and Philip. I happened to chance on your site by seaching for ‘Abbandandolo’ and Carbis Mill Firm. Whilst I have holidayed in the area regularly, the last time i visited the farm was as a 19yr old in 1979. Mary and Philip gave me a very warm welcome and I stayed for hours chatting with them before leaving for St Ives. I have many many fond memories of the farm which i would gladly share with you if you so wished (I even have a picture of me with Bonzo the farm dog !)
