Week one
Welcome to week one (that is the week starting 5th September 2011)
First item I have to mention is a french phrase we have heard so many times since arriving,
“Besoin d`aide?” – Need help?
This was said by everyone from professionals to neighbours and was not said lightly.
We arrived with an inflatible mattress, a box of ASDA tea bags and little else.
After picking a floor to sleep on and pumping up the bed it`s off to the local Carrefour supermarket for a kettle, a microwave oven and food.
Waking the next morning I learn that Trish has hidden many tins of paint in the car when we left England – hmmm – and it`s perfect weather for doing nothing.
The kitchen seems to be the place to start.
Only a sink unit to start with, really a blank canvass,so we can go wild, or at least go yellow.Photos show zero to 50%, the cabinets will wait for another visit.
Thats all until next weeks delayed blog – which will contain wildlife – dead and alive.

Zero!

What – not enough!

Hide those pipes and cables

Paint woman!

That`ll do for now

Wonderful what you can do with just a pot of yellow paint. It’s a great start and I bet your longing to get back to it.

I am impressed, I detect a flair for DIY never seen before. Don’t forget Wednesday is pensioner day at B&Q for those all important kitchen units (no need to respond).
