End of Week Four
Welcome to the end of the begining (Saturday 1st October 2011)
The fastest four weeks of our lives. All the things not done will wait – thats the good part – we will be back!.
Theres a new fuse box fitted and the knackered oil fired central heating is disconnected. Trish even has an ancient “ciel de lit” waiting to be fitted.
Apart from gallons (sorry-beacoup de litres) of paint to apply, killing woodworm and general repairs the main aim of our next visit will be to sort out the bathroom and hot water.
Essentially thats build a wall and install an immersion heater – but If i`ve learnt one thing from our first visit it`s “don`t plan too much” you end up not finishing anything that way!.
The pictures show present arrangements that were installed when the house was being used as a kind of youth club – we have another toilet downstairs and will continue to use our “solar shower” while the work continues.
Google “solar shower” if you don`t know what they are – free hot water – fantastic as long as the sun shines – though you can fill from a kettle if your careful.
That`s about it untill next spring – if you know me and you want further info drop me an e-mail. I`ll go on for hours given the chance.

Not pretty – but everythings working.

Ohhh – his and hers showers.

Waiting to be put out of it`s misery.

Saw this on the farm just above us – I may make an offer.

As a last resort we have a Thermes down the road.

That looks like one big adventure, I’m very jealous. Keep well you two.

That looks like hard work…but keep going, we will bring a red cross parcel when we visit.
